A memorable piece of Mannheim railway history
The buildings of the old locomotive shed have stood on Glücksteinallee since 1870 — today they are the home of Bavarian tavern culture in Mannheim.
From 1870 onwards, the Gründerzeit buildings of the maintenance workshop and the locomotive shed were erected as part of Mannheim's main railway station of the time — without doubt a memorable piece of the city's railway history.
Where locomotives and wagons were once serviced, the workshop buildings and the later rail-vehicle hall are now home to our tavern: the Mannheimer Wirtshaus zum Lokschuppen.
As an independent house we carry Bavarian tavern tradition forward — with our own signature, warm hospitality and respect for this special place. We look forward to your visit!
